We would be happy to assist this match during their journey, in managing their gestational carrier medical claims. This service includes claims management during her pregnancy and determining her coordination of benefits when and if the surrogate has two insurance policies. Please see attached document with a more in dept breakdown of this service.
Our usual process is once we have confirmation of pregnancy, we reach out to the IP’s and ask them to review and sign our claims management agreement through DocuSign and then request the invoice for the service fee. Then they will be assigned to a dedicated claims coordinator who will then send out informational forms to their gestational carrier (GC) via DocuSign. Additionally, we contact their gestational carrier directly via email, to introduce ourselves and begin assisting with monitoring her medical claims with her insurance from that point forward. We ask that she send any of her medical bills received from her visits including the OB and hospital to us. Then, we review the bills to confirm that her insurances are processing the claims and paying them accordingly to her plans. We then forward the bills to the requested party for payment. We follow up with her providers, based on bills and her insurance claims, to confirm receipt of the payments and confirm any balances or prepayments are applied. Also, at that time, we will confirm the OB and Hospital of choice are in network with her policy(s), which is done again prior to her expected delivery.
This service completes at around 8-12months postdelivery, as we continue to monitor any late submitted or reprocessed claims through to her postnatal follow up appointment or until cleared by her OB. When we again contact the providers to confirm any final balances are resolved and send a final spreadsheet of our claims and billing tracking to your agency for the matches records.
Please note this service is for her maternity claims at her OB through her delivery and follow up care, and please advise that her medical policy will not provide any medical coverage for a newborn. The hospital will need to be contacted prior to the delivery and inform them that the IP’s are the responsible party for the newborn at birth and provide the insurance information the newborn will be added to if that is the case to the newborns billing account to prevent issues with the baby being added incorrectly to her policy. If you find at anytime, they have issues with newborn claims or bills that service is provided for an additional fee of $500.
