Next we will contact your surrogate and introduce ourselves and ask for her permission to speak to the insurance company and her providers regarding her claims, and request that she send me copies of her medical bills and any insurance communication that she receives. We do need her agreement in this process as well, in order to be provided access to her claims and bills. Once she agrees as needed, we will contact her insurance company(s) and medical providers to assure they have the correct information to process according to her policy. We will then match the invoices to the claims processed through her insurance and make sure that all claims are adjusted correctly and then send the bills to you, or your agency if you prefer for payment from your escrow. Then we will follow up with the provider to confirm the payment was received.
Please note this service is for her maternity claims at her OB through her delivery and follow up care, and please advise that her medical policy will not provide any medical coverage for a newborn. You will need to contact the delivery hospital prior to the delivery and inform them you are the responsible party for the newborn at birth and provide your insurance information the newborn will be added to if that is the case to the newborns billing account to prevent issues with the baby being added incorrectly to her policy.
This service completes at around 6-12 months postdelivery, as we continue to monitor any late submitted or reprocessed claims through to her postnatal follow up appointment or until cleared by her OB. When we again contact the providers to confirm any final balances are resolved and send a final spreadsheet of our claims and billing tracking to your agency for the matches records.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We are looking forward to assisting you with the processing and payment of the maternity claims for your journey. We would like to make this is one less thing for you to worry about during this time.
